Low Maintenance Floors
Dan and Celeste are former residents of the beautiful state of Montana where it’s rugged and wild. In transitioning from a rural home under the big sky to a urban space here in Spokane Dan and Celeste were looking to get away from high maintenance, and toward a more durable low maintenance flooring product. They found the solution in this modern styled honed – polished concrete floor. Trust me by their own admission they’ve spilled their fair share of wine on this natural colored finish but you’d never know it! The ease of clean up is abound with this wonderful, durable surface.
For full quality control we specified the mix design and placed the concrete to get the perfect slab. We then cut the slab with a four foot by four foot saw cut pattern. Dan and Celeste had requested we leave the cuts exposed. This particular space is situated in the new Kendall Yards area in beautiful downtown Spokane Washington. The natural colors and blends of sand in the concrete were a great fit for the unit, easily complimenting its green urban surroundings.
Top Quality Finish
We ground the floor to a stage two finish. We did this to expose the smaller aggregate for a heavier salt and pepper appearance. After which the floor was sealed up with L&M Petrotex™ repellant to protect the floors from oil and water. The repellant also allowed us to not only protect the concrete from oil and water, but also keep the natural tone of the concrete. The four foot by four foot saw cut pattern was counter balanced with a soft sheen polish (level two). The end result was a beautiful, low maintenance and highly efficient flooring surface that will last for years to come. This was a wonderful project for us to work on with amazing clients, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
